My desire for a pair of Maison Martin Margiela tabi boots is unparalleled and unending. Their chunky circular heel and split toe haunt my dreams with their utter perfection. My boyfriend think they're weird. He's right, but I love them anyways.
It's not so much that they are weird, weird is awesome, is that they remind me of cow feet, which makes me think of cattle...less than feminist right? honestly the theory is probably too far reaching, but I just can't bring myself to love them.
funny how these are called Tabi cat shoes when they are much more like hooves. my boyfriend's sister has a pair of sports shoes that have the split toe.
it would be really cool with like fake fur and hoof design on it, too!
Those shoes are really weird, for me. I haven't seen those my entire life until I saw them here in your blog. They may be weird but weird is awesome. I wanna have at least one pair too :) I wonder what my friends and the people here would say if I would wear one.. hmm...?
Laura, they're called Tabi Boots after tabi - 足袋 - Japanese socks withs split toe. It has nothing to do with cats XD although yeah, they do look like hooves a little bit.
I've wanted a pair for so long as well, and about 4 months ago I put a saved search on eBay so now I get emails almost every day letting me know when new ones are listed... I just like to torture myself I guess
I actually lost a bidding war in the summer over a pair of black tabi boots with a silver metal heel, I MEAN. My max bid was 700 yeah I'm crazy I don't have that kind of money but I was willing to pay it off. Some pairs on ebay do go for around 300 or less, you should make a saved search! <3
