Its a well-known fact that the Kitchener-Waterloo region has a pretty substantial Mennonite population. Last week I saw a Mennonite woman wearing an awkward-length floral dress with puffy shoulders with heavy work boots and it came across as more riot grrrl than religious minority. Anyways, this outfit is minimally inspired by some of the Mennonites I see around town while running errands. The skirt might be a bit scandalous but everything else looks I just finished up my farm chores. So maybe I dress more like a Mennonite than I care to admit, but that's okay.

really love the angles of the photo - and that's before I add you looking all cool + a bit coy in the middle!!

I LOVE that you're inspired by the mennos! And I don't know if you already knew the origin of the Mennonites or looked it up, but seeing Menno Simons as your title is the greatest. We Mennos should be proud that you feature us as fashion inspiration and post our inventor/founder (not that I'm old order).
ooh oooh! I went to Fleetwod PA and I tried to take a photo of a Mennanite in his buggy and he NEARLY RAN ME OVER WITH IT! He was Piiissseeedddd the fuck off! Hahhaha I never expected THAT. ANyways, I did an outfit post inspired by the occasion too!

i love the patterns and the mix of wools here - also just shows you can take inspiration from anywhere and anyone.
Me gusta mucho la mezcla de tejidos.

el oh ve eh this!
i love the patterns in this look. i like your story of the unlikely source of your inspiration
you should dress like a mennonite more often.
@BP... I love the comment. I takes some special circumstances to follow the mennos into fashion!
Isabel...this is pretty unique. Your style reminds me a bit of Tavi. It's good to be unique, as I find with style bloggers they usually dress the same - with the typical tank top matched with belt and skirt.
I will vote for you on Teen Vogue.
